o176 An impressive Olmec terra cotta votive figure depicting an obese seated figure. The person, of indeterminite gender, squats with the left leg upward bent, the right tucked beneath, the left arm around the leg, and right arm held against the chest. The large head has the hair pulled up to a peak on top, large round pierced eyes, slightly parted lips, and both ears with long eliptical ornaments hanging to the shoulders. Idol sits nearly 6 1/2 inches tall, 4 1/2 inches wide, with the head repaired at the neck, the nose reconstructed, an area of ancient surface erosion on the backside base, and a trowel chip behind the left arm, otherwise, intact and well preserved. Olmec figures of this size and quality are very scarce. Type found around the Pacific coast of Guatemala, c. 400 B.C. $800.00

FS133 A bird effigy shallow container painted in deep red and black with some remaining white highlights. This early Panamanian effigy stands of four short pointed legs supporting the central bowl and is accented with wings, tail, and short bird head.
