A840 A well modeled and smooth orangeware gourd effigy jar from West Mexico with a 'pie crust' midsection, the body in a strong orange with a large fire clouded base. Jar sits just over 4 3/4 inches tall, 5 1/2 inch diameter, in solid overall condition, with a small chip and several nicks at the rim. The interior and exterior retain strong ancient mineral deposits while the midsection has a series of ancient small scrapes. Such scrapes are normally attributed to rodents chewing off salt deposits leaching from these ancient vessels. Nayarit, c. 200 B.C.-100 A.D. $90.00

A834 An interesting, simplistic, well modeled West Mexican bowl with a cream ground having fire clouding and a wide band in red in the interior and the exterior. Bowl sits 2 1/4 inches tall, 6 inch diameter, and is encrusted in ancient calcified root markings and other ancient deposits. In solid and intact, excellent condition. A680 An unusual little jar with a globular body surmounted with narrowing
neck and widened lip and a very odd short thin spout on base. It would appear
this vessel served as a ceremonial pouring of liquids. Overall with a beautiful
reddish/orange surface with three vertical brown bands and crescent shape
designs between, all painted with white dots. Vessel is solid, intact condition
with a few chips to interior of lip. Sits 4 1/4 inches tall with diameter
of approximately 3 1/2 inches and conforms quite nicely within one or two

The upper half features an orange ground covered with vertical bands that turn into diagonal bands and surround the jar. The paint is an unusual heavy, thick type.
